About
9-0-0 Man City is a parody browser game by the people behind 8-0 World Cup. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Manchester City FC, the Premier League, any club, sponsor or player.
The real case
On 29 September 2026, an independent commission found Manchester City in breach of Premier League financial rules over the 2009-10 to 2017-18 seasons. The league says revenue was inflated and costs reduced by more than £900m. Sanctions to be decided at a separate hearing. The club denies wrongdoing and says it will appeal.
Everything that happens inside the game is fiction, including schemes, receipts, extras and verdicts.
Where the numbers come from
Market values come from Transfermarkt, via the open transfermarkt-datasets project (CC0). We take the last valuation before each summer window closes. Where no reliable valuation existed, we estimate one from comparable players and mark it as estimated.
Fees in today's money apply an estimated football transfer-inflation multiplier per season. Wages are a stylised three-season estimate from fee and age, not real contract figures. Receipt extras are jokes.
Ratings are our own 0–99 estimates of how good each player was in each season. They were calibrated against EA FIFA editions, market value and minutes played, and checked by hand against reference players.
League membership for 2009–2012 comes from football-data.co.uk results files. Exchange rates are ECB annual averages.
